WHAT DOES HYPNOFERTILITY TREATMENT INVOLVE ?

Every couples circumstances, history, medical diagnosis and beliefs are different, so every Hypnofertility programme is different.

The 1st stage of treatment is initial assessment and consultation.

Lasting 1-2 hours this process involves an initial meeting where suitability for treatment is determined. Personal, medical, fertility and pregnancy histories are taken. Time scales, current fertility treatments, past experiences and beliefs are discussed. It may also be appropriate for couples to seen individually as well as together during this process. Time is taken to explain what hypnosis is, how our mind and body can work together and against each other and how this can prevent and enhance the odds of conception.

This information is then used to create an individual programme for each couple.

The programme will usually consist of around 6 sessions, utilising a variety of hypnotherapeutic techniques, some sessions will be working with one member of the couple others will teaching the couple techniques that can be used at home as well as during and after medical procedures. The programme may also involve referral to other complementary practitioners such as nutrition, acupuncture etc. Homework will also be set in the form of hypnosis practice using the techniques taught during each session
